On top of the many service hours that SAE gives to local community organizations, we have also planned a few service events of our own! Our first annual “Freedom Fest ” was held on September 9th 2005 from 2-7 p.m. Together with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha and Alpha Sigma Alpha we BBQ'ed in the Quad, offering some great food in exchange for a cash ($2) or bottled water donation. The cash (over $5000!) and water (30+ cases!) we collected went to support the Red Cross relief efforts for the victims of hurricane Katrina.
Another big event is the semi-annual “Keg Roll.” This is a long-standing tradition that the chapter of Missouri Delta has committed to since it was first established. Chapter members (and anyone else who wants to help out) hit the streets of Kansas City, rolling our 'patented' royal purple keg and gathering donations. These donations benefit one of our chapters favorite charities, “Our Little Haven”. OLH is an organization based in St. Louis that benefits children with HIV/AIDS. Last year’s Keg Roll was a big success, and this year we hope to do even better!
Some of our Alumni brothers also sponsor an annual 30 Mile bike ride to benefit the Colleen Conway Holloway Scholarship Fund at Notre Dame de Sion. Read more about Colleen's life and the wonderful charities supported in her name by clicking here. The First Annual "In The Saddle To Win The Battle" benefit ride was held on September 17th 2005 with all proceeds going to benefit the scholarship mentioned above.

As SAE's Social chair I am particularly excited that this years calendar is already filling up! SAE is rolling into the 2006-2007 school year with great plans for our social events.
Although we participate in many philanthropic and other worthwhile activities, this doesn’t mean we don’t like to have fun as well. SAE is constantly raising the bar for fraternity parties at Rockhurst. "Boxer Rebellion" (August 25th) is going to kick off the year in style with 5 busses taking students out to historic Benjamin Ranch. Individuals coming to this event are expected to where nothing but underwear (feel free to be creative). Tickets will be $10, a small price to pay for an event my class is still talking about from last year!
A new comer to the SAE party line up is “Fly by Night” (October 6th). This traditional party from the old days is not your normal date party! One randomly selected SAE and his date will have 1 hour to pack before a limo whisks them to the airport to “Fly by Night” to another city for a surprise vacation!
Also on tap again this year is "Rocktoberfest" (October 31st). This Halloween costume party has been held at Double Dragon in the past but new venues are in the works.
It is important to get out and take a break from school and work and enjoy yourself every once in a while. We sincerely hope you'll join us for both our social and service events and help us make this a semester to remember.
If you have any questions about our chapter’s service or social activities, or your organization would like to partner with us for a service or social event, please contact Kevin Goodwin at GoodwinK@rockhurst.edu.

Philanthropy and Community Service activities play a major role in defining what Sigma Alpha Epsilon is all about. Whenever we can, we like to volunteer our time by participating in community service and philanthropic activities. Be sure to check out our home page for more information about some of the big activities we like to participate in. Also, don't forget to view photos of our service events in our photo album (coming soon!). Also, if you are an Alumnus or friend of SAE and need volunteers to help with any of your upcoming charity events, please let us know!

The competitive spirit and camaraderie of athletic activity has always been important to our chapter. We take great pride in our history of athletic excellence! The Missouri Delta Chapter of SAE were winners of Rockhurst's Overall Intramural Championship trophy for the following years:
From the chapters inception (1972), ΣΑΕ has been competitive in all divisions and victorious in many, winning the Intramural Champions trophy 15 of 30 years and finishing no worse than 2nd in the other years. But more important than the victories is the spirit displayed by the entire Brotherhood. With ΣΑΕ, the success of any team is determined by how much fun its players have. Any Brother who wants to participate on any level is encouraged and supported by the rest of the Brothers. Those who do not play offer their help and support on the sidelines. While we are always competitive, we never overlook the true goal of the sport: to foster strong personal friendships and to encourage the growth of teamwork.
While the terms "fraternity" and "sorority" may be used to describe any number of social and charitable organizations, including the Lions Club and the Shriners, in the United States and Canada fraternities and sororities are most commonly known as social organizations for students enrolled at the university or graduate school levels. While we participate in many philanthropic & otherwise worthwhile activities, we're also proud to say that we love a good party!
"Boxer Rebellion " (2005)
"Jungle Party " (1991)
An important element in any man’s college career is his social life and ΣΑΕ prides itself of its excellent and varied social events. Activities range from traditional D.J.’d mixers to extensively decorated and costumed theme/band parties. Each Brother and Pledge is entitled to take full advantage of the social outlets offered by ΣΑΕ. The interaction between guests and members of our house greatly aids in the complete development of the collegiate man.
In the past several years, we have enlarged the scope of our social activities to offer the chance for more informal gatherings such as bowling, canoe trips and professional sporting events. It is our belief that everyone needs to occasionally remove himself from his studies and the house to take some time to relax. When we do return to our work, we are refreshed and avoid being “burnt out”, a common condition at Rockhurst.
